He said Mohammed VI Polytechnic University, a private research university, is leading the way in creating the future that Africa is talking about.

“When I think of quality, when I think of innovative space, when I think of partnership, when I think of working on unique turbulence for Africa for a world class standard, this is clearly the best university that I saw.

“Therefore, I am certainly impressed. I certainly wish the best to the university. He said the university opens the space to expose Moroccans and Africans in general to a new learning environment.

The AfDB chief emphasized that the university’s uniqueness is defined by its innovation, creativity and ability to unleash the power of the mind.

Adesina said the innovation the university is rolling out in agricultural research is reducing the selection of plants with phenotypic traits from four years to one year.

The same, he said, applies to computer science, allowing students who have never had computer literacy to engage in coding in a peer-to-peer learning environment. .

This, he says, will enable students to become employees and job creators as well.

He therefore applauded the university for awarding scholarships to about 60% of students and for not making affordability a challenge for those interested in learning.

He called on other African countries to replicate what the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University is doing in their various countries to realize Africa’s dream of growth and innovation.
